Members of Congress Tour Supermarkets During August Recess

September 18, 2017

While lawmakers may have adjourned for the August district work period, most remained busy visiting constituents in their districts and states, including independent supermarket operators. With independent grocers across every congressional district throughout the country, store tours play an important part of putting a face to the work grocers do every day and showing lawmakers first-hand how federal policies are impacting day-to-day operations.

During the congressional work period, 10 independent grocers welcomed lawmakers into their businesses to learn more about what it takes to run a supermarket and the economic impact the independent supermarket industry has in the communities they represent.
